I will cover a French wine in this entry, as per request of some of my friends !

This white wine is from the Alsace, the Alsace is located on the border with Germany in France and has the river Rhine running through it. The Alsace produces mainly white wines with Pinot Gris, Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Blanc and so go on, but it only makes rosé and very little red wine out of Pinot Noir. Tramini is the Hungarian word we use for Gewürztraminer, in the previous entry you can find some info about a wine with this grape and Sauvignon Blanc. Alsace produces mostly wines with Riesling (21.7%) and Gewürztraminer (Tramini) (18.6%), so as you can see it’s not that different as the Hungarian wine regions.  Unfortunately I do not know which winery this wine comes from. But what is very interesting is the fact that this wine was bought in Lidl, yes they sell do sell quality in Lidl and Aldi.

Now about the wine…

The smell is very flowery almost perfumed, I also smell some green apple in it. The taste displays the same as the smell and has hints of non sweet honey (yea strange !), it also has a very high acidity which is very typical for Rieslings. I would advice this wine with sea fish dishes.
